Sometimes Communication Arrives Exactly When You Need It

When the Mail Began Moving Again

After a long period of stillness, the Greek postal service seems to be moving again, yet  slowly. Carefully.. As if remembering an old habit..

We don’t know how long this movement will last, but we can hope for the best..

Over the past weeks, postcards that had been lost somewhere in time began to arrive..
Christmas wishes..
Birthday cards from December..
Small paper traces of people who had already stepped into the new year..

They arrived in late January and early February.. I can only guess tired from the journey, but safe..

And in the end, that’s what matters.. Better late than never..

There is something strangely touching about a delayed postcard, as if it carries more time than it was meant to, or as if it has passed through more hands, more silences, more pauses..

Mail has always been like this: a little unpredictable, a little stubborn, a little romantic..

The Small Ritual of Communication

For those who love postcards, waiting is part of the joy, and so is collecting..

Every card is a small proof that somewhere, someone took a moment..
They chose an image..
They wrote a few words..
They placed a stamp..
They waited too..

This hobby, or perhaps this need, is not really about paper, but about presence..

In a world where everything arrives instantly, correspondence continues to travel at its own pace and perhaps that slower rhythm is what makes it so meaningful..

Because when a postcard finally arrives, even late, it is not just an object.. It is proof that connection persists..

That communication always finds a way..

And that the postal service, like people, may disappear for a while, but eventually remembers the way back..

Patience Is Part of Correspondence

Perhaps correspondence teaches us something we often forget: important things do not always arrive on time, but they do arrive..

And as long as postcards keep appearing in the mailbox, even delayed ones, there will always be a reason to wait for the next one..
