On Gentle Change, Accepting, and Belonging

Dear stranger,

I don’t know where you are right now, maybe sitting on a bench, maybe watching the rain through a window, or maybe just trying, like me, to get used to something new that arrived too soon, or too late..
They say we all change.. But no one ever really teaches us how to change without losing ourselves along the way..

The gentlest changes are usually the deepest ones.. They don’t make noise, they don’t come with applause..
They happen quietly, when you start replying differently, when you get less angry, when you need a little less validation..
At some point, you’ll realize you didn’t change to impress anyone.. You changed because you were tired of resisting what you were already becoming..

Acceptance isn’t giving up. It’s a quiet kind of peace.. To accept doesn’t mean to stop hoping, it means to stop fighting the wind and start listening to it.. Everything becomes softer when we stop trying to control the rhythm of life..

And as for belonging, it isn’t always a place or a person’s arms..
Sometimes it’s simply a moment when you think, “Yes, I can breathe here..”
It might be a home, a friendship, a dog waiting for you, or a notebook that listens without judgment..
It might even be this moment now, a stranger reading a letter written for them, feeling a little less alone..

If you’re changing, change gently..
If you’re accepting, do it kindly..
And if you’re searching for where you belong, remember, maybe you’re already there..

With warmth,
Someone who’s also learning to change softly..

Τ.
