PO BOX 49 – Postcard Explosion!
Good morning! Today I opened my PO Box and, BOOM! .. It was a full-on postcard explosion. A colorful, international mix spilled out, and suddenly I was travelling the world without even leaving my desk. From historic landmarks and cats peeking out of mailboxes, to lighthouses, art festivals, and the bright lights of Las Vegas, it’s like the universe decided to throw me a little travel party..
Budapest, Hungary / “Girl with a Dog” by Dávid Raffay
This card stole my heart instantly.. A bronze girl reaching out to her four-legged friend, captured by Hungarian sculptor Dávid Raffay, who has a gift for freezing life’s sweetest moments in time.. You can almost feel the warmth in that gentle gesture..
Aland Islands / Lighthouses
The lighthouses of Lagskär, Märhällan, and Sälskär, my personal request, even if the card is from older year’s meetup. .I’ve always been enchanted by lighthouses: standing tall in the wind, keeping silent watch, guiding strangers home.. A mix of solitude, beauty, and light.. just like a good postcard, really..
Finland / The Mailbox Cat
Straight from Finland comes this fluffy mailbox guardian, looking equal parts serious and unimpressed.. Probably thinking: “Yes, human, I am the most important delivery you’ll ever receive.” Honestly, I might start checking my mailbox twice a day just in case..
Berlin, Germany / 20th Anniversary Postcrossing Meetup!
The iconic Brandenburg Gate, looking as grand as ever.. I imagine it as the ultimate meetup entrance: history echoing through the columns, and inside, a crowd of postcrossers swapping stories, stamps, and way too much coffee..
Las Vegas, USA / A Little Dream of Mine
Ah, Las Vegas… one day I’ll be there, walking beneath the neon glow, sipping something cold, taking in the chaos and charm.. A place where the unusual is normal, and everything feels possible..
Stickers, READ Card & Arts on the Square / from my friend Mark
Mark, thank you for the stickers, the READ card, and the 20th birthday celebration of Arts on the Square! That festival is bursting with life, live music, painting bikes, hands-on workshops, chalk art, poetry readings, food trucks, and even a Ferris wheel. It’s not just an event, it’s a playground for creativity.. and I’d happily spend an entire week getting paint on my hands there..
And as I closed the box, the morning felt different, as if the world had remembered my name, and whispered it across oceans..
Tatiana,
